Hi,
Just got home from Bob’s memorial service. He would have really enjoyed it. He’d have been sitting with me,Keith, Derek, French Paul, Stevie, Carey and Gray, having a few MGD,and talking about stuff from the last 25-30 years. Many good memories of Bob, from many people. Never forget your rebel uncle, I know I won’t.

I’m not. I was just good friends with Bob. I met him about 25 years ago when I began bartending at a pub he used to frequent. He basically scared me at first ( bad biker !) ,but we started having amazing conversations about everything. Even though we disagreed almost 100%, we just hit it off. Whatever bar I worked in,Bob came with me! He is one of the smartest, most interesting people I’ve ever known, I just loved him. His wit! I’m going to miss him. It’s good that he had Sam the last few years- she’s a nice woman, and cared for Bob. You know, I can’t believe I’m having this conversation- I thought he’d be around for a long time…

Thank you for your kind message. As a child and teen, his “rebel spirit” spoke to my soul.

Are you Sam?

I did a similar trip, albeit by my 1968 Buick with my ex-wife when I graduated from U of T in 78.
Drove to BC then to San Fransisco then diagonally back to Waterloo in one month.
